Welcome to another edition of the “The Valero Verdict” movie review. In this I will give you a quick movie review with a couple of bullet points of which I either liked or disliked. I will end the review with rating of the movie and a short overall thoughts.

On the docket today, the 4th installment of the BEST animated series of movies EVER Toy Story 4.

• THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!

• Randy Newman score in this film is pure masterful. Someone just hand this man the Oscar already, I love this man and the way he can adds so much to a film via the sound of music.

• Stanton, Folsom and Cooley: Look writing screenplays is hard (I’ve been trying for years) but to write a screenplay that can hit every demographic, that hits so many true to life scenarios and doing so while being a kids movie, it’s a beautiful thing to witness. The way Cooley translates it to the screen is perfect.

• Look I was ready to crown Keanu/Duke Caboom my favorite animated character by the trailer alone and after watching the film Forky/Tony Hale takes the cake. Reeves was fantastic but Hale really stole the show as Forky and you laughed EVERY time he was involved in this movie.

The Verdict:

**** 1/2 out of ***** gavels

Toy Story 3 is hands down my favorite animated film of all time until I saw Toy Story 4. I applauded the way the Russo brothers were able to incorporate all the characters in the End Game and the way Josh Cooley was able to do that in this film while introducing several new characters was amazing. Toy Story packs a HUGE punch and it makes you laugh, it makes you cry and it makes you think, all of which not easy to do within a film.

Should You See It?: Yes. Take the kids, don’t take the kids. I am completely blown away by the ability of Disney to knock it out of the park so many times with one franchise.
