Welcome to another edition of the “The Valero Verdict” movie review. In this I will give you a quick movie review with a couple of bullet points of which I either liked or disliked. I will end the review with rating of the movie and a short overall thoughts.
On the docket today, the Regina Hall led movie called Little.

- Marsai Martin is a damn star. She really is great in this movie and honestly really look forward to watching her grow and star in more films. She was super great in this role and an unexpected pleasant surprise.
- I expected a little more Regina Hall but while she was on-screen, she was fantastic. To be honest, I am waiting for a Director to cast her in a super serious role and watch her just thrive in it. I feel like she has an Oscar nominated performance her we haven’t seen yet.
- A lot of the big time funny parts were in the trailer i.e. the BMW (Black Mama Whooping) scene was hilarious.
- I really hated the poor tasted joke at the beginning about the kid transitioning. I don’t feel like we have a place in movies for this, poorly worded joke that wasn’t needed nor funny.
Overall Verdict:
** 1/2 out of ***** stars
Like I’ve said before, predictable movies are okay when they are these types of movies. I enjoyed the performances from Regina Hall and Marsai Martin. It wasn’t an over the top super funny but it satisfied me from start to finish for me to enjoy it.
Should You See It?: Wait till Redbox. It’s not a right now need to see it kind of movie but I definitely think its worth a rent when it comes out.
