The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 2/7

What’s up like most of you I’ve been dealing with some crazy winter weather lately which caused me to miss writing for Wednesday slates. We can’t let that happen for Friday as we’ve got 10 games on the slate for us to choose from. I’m not going to waste any time so here are the guys I’ll be considering for my rosters on Friday.

THE STUDS

Kevin Durant has posted a couple of bad games for his standards lately, but when you roster Durant you are guaranteeing yourself at least 40 fantasy points. The problem is if you pay for Durant and want value you need 60 to 70 fantasy points which is always a possibility.

John Wall has reached elite pricing on most sites and for good reason. He’s posted 4 straight games of 40 plus fantasy points and is at home where he’s been a beast this year. Wall is averaging almost 3 full points per game more at home this year and gets Kyrie Irving as his defender on Friday.

Carmelo Anthony is starting at the power forward position for the Knicks right now and putting up 40 or more fantasy points on the regular. He’s got a match up with Denver whose ranked 28th over the last 10 games in defending the PF position.

Anthony Davis might be trying to give Durant a run for his money as the best fantasy player simply for his ability to get blocks. He’s posted over 40 fantasy points in 5 straight games including two over 50 and one 65 fantasy point performance. He gets a bump if Kevin Love sits out this game as Minnesota will have no one to compete for rebounds on the inside.

Demarcus Cousins hasn’t missed a beat since coming back from his ankle injury posting 45 plus fantasy points in both games back. He should abuse the Boston Celtics on the inside who are ranked 29th at defending the center position over the last 10 games.

SPECIAL NOTE

It’s no secret to anyone playing daily fantasy NBA that the Lakers vs 76ers game is going to have a ton of value. I have decided not to write about those guys involved in that game. The key is going to be choosing the right guys from the game for your fantasy team. I know that I will probably roster Wes Johnson in every single line up I play on Friday.

NOW ONTO THE REST OF THE PLAYS

Serge Ibaka has picked up his game quite a bit over the last 5 games and gets a weak Orlando front court to deal with on Friday. Ibaka is a guy that can give you a big game with his ability to block shots. Ibaka will be up against Orlando as previously stated and they have the 7th most blocked shots this year.

Bradley Beal could be a solid GPP style play for someone on Friday as the Cavaliers come in ranked dead last in defending the opposing SG. Beal has had his minutes limit lifted and if he gets hot in this game he can post points fast.

Monta Ellis always scares me when I roster him for daily fantasy, but he’s been pretty good over the last 3 games posting 30 or more fantasy points in each game. He’s shooting close to 50% at home this year as opposed to 43% on the road which gives me a little more confidence in using him in my line up on Friday.

Eric Gordon is one of my favorite plays for Friday as he’s at home against the Timberwolves who are ranked 28th against the SG position. Gordon is very risky as you have to count on him to hit shots, but when he gets hot he could have a huge game. Gordon is play over 30 minutes per game and as long as the shots fallen he will be a nice GPP play at a cheaper price on most sites.

Jonas Valanciunas has been a big part of the Raptors success here lately. He’s posted 20 or more fantasy points in 7 straight games. He’s played 30 or more minutes in 6 of the last 7 as well except for last game that was sort of out of hand in the end. He’s matched up with the Clippers Friday which might scare some people away, but they are 26th in defending the C position over the last 10.

Rajon Rondo is still priced cheaply on most sites and seems to be getting back to his normal self. He’s flirted with posting a triple double in his last two games and will be counted on heavily for the Celtics Friday. Rondo should be able to have his way with Thomas on the offensive end of the floor and can always grab a couple steals to help add to his fantasy point total.

AND THE VALUE GUYS TO FIT THE STUDS

Jerryd Bayless would be a very nice value play if Avery Bradley is unable to go after aggravating his ankle injury on Wednesday. Bayless can shoot lights out on time and against Denver who doesn’t defend the SG position well he could have tremendous value. If Avery Bradley goes I’m not sure you can trust him to get the minutes.

Rodney Stuckey seems to have recovered from his dizziness episode 3 games ago as he’s played around 30  minutes in the last two games. He will be matched up with Brooklyn on Friday who do not defend the SG position well and Stuckey will be at home where he shoots much better.

Danny Granger could pick up some minutes if Lance Stephenson was to sit out after his fall in Tuesday’s game. I doubt Stephenson misses the game, but if he does fire up Granger with confidence.
