The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/20 (Holiday Edition)

What’s up everyone? Sorry about no posts over the weekend in this busy life I live just didn’t have any time to get an article out on NBA plays on either Saturday or Sunday. This is a unique version for Monday as we’ve got 10 games on display starting at 1 o’clock eastern time for the Martin Luther King Jr day celebration in the NBA. My plays for today will be taking into consideration all 10 NBA games that are on the slate. You will notice based on the site you are playing on there will be early starts and late starts as well, so let’s make some money!

THE STUDS

Carmelo Anthony is the top play in the stud category that I would be most willing to pay up for on Monday. He’s doing it all right now for the Knicks and given that he’s having to play some of the 4 position will also be grabbing more rebounds.

Lebron James doesn’t need me to explain to you why you should play him. He is coming off back to back 50 fantasy points performances and has a match up with an Atlanta team that will struggle to defend him.

James Harden has been pretty consistent over the last couple of match ups and he will have to be against a very good Portland team for Houston to win. Harden’s price is all over the board, but if you can get a salary you like for him then I’d be all over him on Monday.

NOW ONTO THE REST OF THE PLAYS

John Wall might be the most obvious play out there for this slate of games. He’s taking on a Philadelphia team that’s giving up 105 points per game in the last 10 and doesn’t defend the point position well at all. Wall has been over 40 fantasy points in each of his last 5 games and should have no trouble in this one.

LaMarcus Aldridge features a nightmare match up for the Rockets as Howard can’t really stay with him if he steps out to shoot. If they move Jones on him I think Aldridge is just to good and abuses him in this game. I like Aldridge either way to hit value in this one!

Joakim Noah refuses to let the Bulls tank this season away as he’s put up over 55 fantasy points in 2 of his last 3 games. He’s matched up with the Lakers who are giving up 113 points per game over the last 10 and ranked 2nd to last in defending the center position. He’s going to be extremely tough to fade on Monday and will be in just about all my line ups.

Darren Collison is facing the Pistons who have been the worst at defending the point in the last 10 games and he’s actually been pretty good in his starts. He’s a solid start as he’s been over 25 fantasy points in every game he’s started in Paul’s absences minus the last one, but we can wipe it away since it was against Indiana.

Tristan Thompson is probably the most risky play I’ve listed in a while, but I really like the situation for him on Monday. He’s matched up with Dallas whose ranked 28th against the PF position. The Cavaliers don’t really have anyone that eats into Thompson’s minutes and he’s playing close to 35 a game in most contests. He’s at home as well where he’s averaging about 3 points per game more as well.

AND THE VALUE GUYS TO FIT THE STUDS

Ramon Sessions is going to take over starting for the Bobcats while Kemba Walker is hurt. He’s a decent basketball player and should see plenty of minutes to hit value on Monday. Sessions played 38 minutes on Saturday and was able to put up 24 fantasy points.

Ryan Kelly against the Bulls isn’t the ideal match up I’d like to look for in a value play, but his price may be too hard to ignore. He’s played over 30 minutes in back to back games and went over 25 fantasy points in each.

DJ Augustin has been getting over 25 minutes per game and I see him as the type of guard to give the Lakers some problems in this contest. I’ve already stated that the Lakers have given up an average of 113 points per game over the last 10, so there should be plenty of scoring for the Bulls. He’s contributed over 15 real points in 4 of the last 5 contests and can also contribute in the assists category as well.

NOTES

There are so many good options on Monday that I couldn’t possibly list everything. Good Luck to everyone playing in these contests and keep in mind if you don’t play on a late-swap site then don’t take a risk on a questionable player.
