The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/8

The first edition of my daily play was based on Paul George and he was a major let down for many owners. I won’t be going back that way again for a little while, but the good thing about daily fantasy is it is daily and we come right back today with another slate of games.

THE ELITE STUDS

Kevin Love – He’s a monster and an absolute fantasy stud right now if you can make  a decent line up around him then play him.

LaMarcus Aldridge – Orlando will probably be with Vucevik and that opens the door for Aldridge to abuse Big Bay. He’s averaging close to 46 fantasy points and is well worth his salary on most nights.

Steph Curry – He’s a stud on any night right now, but has had a few back to earth games, use caution with him. When you use caution keep in mind he could go off at any time, so maybe throw him in a line up somewhere.

NOW ONTO THE REST OF THE PLAYS

Dwight Howard would love nothing more than to stick it to the Lakers time and time again. The Lakers don’t have anyone who can guard him right now and if chooses he could put a huge stat line against them. The potential is there for a dud from Howard, so I’d avoid him in cash games and use only in GPP’s.

Kyle Lowry is coming off a tough game with the Pacers, but find himself in a nice match up on Wednesday. The Pistons are not known for defense and Brandon Jennings is more interested in chucking up shots than playing defense. The previous 4 games before last night Lowry had gone over 30 fantasy points and should be looking to rebound from the Tuesday performance.

Jrue Holiday is the ultimate GPP play for you on Wednesday, but he does come with some risk. Holiday’s game logs have been all over the board lately as just 5 games ago he went for 61 fantasy points, but since then hasn’t gone over 30. This is a prime match up for Holiday and he’s shooting 6% better at home than on the road this year.

James Harden has the pleasure of being a guard against the Lakers defense on Wednesday and he’s in one of his hottest streaks of the year right now. He’s coming off back to back 55 fantasy points games. The Lakers are giving up right at 100 points per game and Harden should have plenty of open looks.

Pau Gasol is a guy I talked about yesterday, so I wont spend much time on him. The Rockets are 24th in the last 10 verses power forwards.

Glen Davis has a higher price tag than I’d like to pay in most places, but with Vuc out against he would be a nice value. He put up over 30 fantasy points in the 2 previous games he played without him.

AND THE VALUE GUYS TO FIT THE STUDS

Jodie Meeks is about mid-tier priced right now, but he is producing in those minutes. He’s facing a Houston back court that doesn’t play good defense and Meeks is taking over 10 shots a game right now.

Jamal Crawford is a guy I’m going to look to roster instead of Darren Collison. He’s much cheaper now and is still putting up 30 fantasy points per game over the last 2 games. He’s taking over 15 shots per game and as long as you don’t get negatives for misses I consider him a much better value.

Gerald Green will be starting in place of Eric Bledsoe  against a Timberwolves team that does not defend the 2 position well. He’s locked into 30 minutes of action right now and can get hot from the 3 point line at any time.

NOTES

Shawn Marion went to the locker room during Wednesday’s game if he’s out the Jae Crowder makes for a great value play.
