I would say week 6 was good but not great for me. We have some big studs like Drew Brees, Darren Sproles and Jimmy Graham on a bye this week and DeMarco Murray scheduled to miss this week due to injuries, I give you some solid start/sit advice for this week. But before I dig into week 7, I take a look back at week 6.
Starts that made me look good
DeMarco Murray – He reached the endzone and totaled 50 yards as well before getting hurt.
Josh Gordon – 7 catches for 126, this guy is a Fantasy Stud.
Vernon Davis – The leading scorer for Fantasy this week, shredded the Cardinals for 8 catches for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kansas City Chiefs – Only gave up 7 points, sacked the Pryor 10 times and forced 3 turnovers.
Sits that made me look good
Terrelle Pryor – He was rushed and forced into some terrible throws against the Chiefs. (3 INTs)
Le’Veon Bell – 56 total yards. The Jets held him to 2.1 YPC.
Nate Washington – 1 catch 15 yards, Seahawks D are good at football.
Houston Texans – They did get 5 sacks but gave up 38 points (Mostly thanks to the Offense)
Starts that made me look bad
Robert Griffin III – With the 2 turnovers he only managed 12 Fantasy points this week.
Doug Martin – Totaled only 91 yards this week
Torrey Smith – 1 catch for 12 yards, ONE CATCH!!!!!!
Greg Jennings – In PPR leagues he scored 9 points in Standard he scored 3. Blah.
Sits that made me look bad
Eddie Lacy – He ran all over the Ravens this week and I was shocked. He averaged 5.2 yards on the ground on his way to 120 yards.
Kyle Rudolph – 9 catches, 97 yards and a TD against the Panthers. He received almost as many yards as the Panthers have given up all year to TEs. (100)
Week 7 Must Start
Jay Cutler vs. Washington Redskins
Redskins held Romo in check based on a couple of great returns by Dwayne Harris. Cutler has been really great the last two games, 4 TDs and zero INTs. Cutler should have no problem throwing on this Washington D and is a solid start this week.
Ray Rice vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Jets ran well but not great this past week against the Steelers. Rice is coming off another Fantasy Dud this week, giving his 3rd game with single-digit fantasy points. Pittsburgh though are still giving up an average of 20 PPG to Fantasy RBs. Rice will have a chance a great bounce back matchup this week, if you are skeptical at starting him this week, don’t be. He will be RB1 this week.
DeAngelo Williams vs. St. Louis Rams
The Rams defense fresh off a great game against the Texans but they are also fresh off Arian Foster torching them and running for 141 yards on 20 carries. Williams is coming off another solid performance 117 total yard performance where he also saw 5 targets out of the backfield. The Rams have also been torched for 150+ rushing yards in 3 out of the last 4 games. Williams will find running room and he is an easy RB1 this week.
Mike Wallace vs. Buffalo Bills
Wallace has seen 24 targets over the last two games; he faces a Bills team that just gave up 106 yards and a TD to #1 WR for the Bengals A.J. Green. Wallace can be hit and miss but this week he will be a hit.
T.Y. Hilton vs. Denver Broncos
This Denver secondary is struggling and Henne made them look even worse. Luck is a much better QB and will pick apart this Broncos D if they fail to get pressure on him. Hilton is a favorite target of Luck’s with 35 targets through 5 games.
Antonio Gates vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Monday Night was Gates lowest yard output of the season. The Chargers didn’t need to do much through the air to beat the Colts. Gates has had a great bounce back season and has had 3 double-digit Fantasy games this year and is facing a Jaguars team that has given up a TD to TEs in 4 straight games.
Green Bay Packers vs. Cleveland Browns
Packers shut down Ray Rice and paid for it, Flacco threw for over 300 yards against them. But Weeden is no Flacco and McGahee surely isn’t Ray Rice. So the Packers are a must-start this week against the Browns.
Week 7 Must Sit
Matt Ryan vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
I know we all saw what Nick Foles did to the Bucs secondary but Ryan doesn’t have his Vincent Jackson (Julio Jones) for the rest of the season. They are only giving up 12 PPG to opposing Fantasy QBs. Guys like Nick Foles, Jay Cutler and even Josh Freeman (if he starts) are better options this week.
Bilal Powell vs. New England Patriots
He couldn’t take advantage of a great matchup in Pittsburgh last week and the Patriots are only giving up 13 PPG to Fantasy RBs. Powell should find his way to your bench this week.
Le’Veon Bell vs. Baltimore Ravens
He let me down last week against the Jets, the matchup wasn’t great but I thought he would be able to find some running room regardless. The Ravens are the best against the opposing Fantasy RBs, Bell is an easy must sit.
Dwayne Bowe vs. Houston Texans
Houston D has been really good but there offense hasn’t done them any favors with the pick-6’s or the turnovers. They have been great against opposing WRs and Bowe just hasn’t been that great this year and with this matchup he is only a WR4 at best.
Anquan Boldin vs. Tennessee Titans
He is getting plenty of targets but teams are just covering him well. Two straight single digit fantasy outputs for Boldin has a matchup coming up with the Titans. They have only given up 2 TDs to TEs through 6 games. Since his week 1, 13 catch, 208 yard and a TD performance he is averaging just 42.6 YPG since.
Garrett Graham vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Graham only had 2 catches for 25 yards against the Rams in his 1st week as being starting tight end for the Texans. Chiefs are #1 against TE’s and have yet to give up a touchdown to one either. Bad matchup and one you should stay away from.
Cleveland Browns vs. Green Bay Packers
Stafford looked really well against the Browns last week and tossed the ball all over them. Aaron Rodgers is coming to town and isn’t going to make things easier. The Browns have been a top 10 fantasy D all year but this is one of those weeks you sit them down.
