Welcome to another edition of the “The Valero Verdict” movie review. In this I will give you a quick movie review with a couple of bullet points of which I either liked or disliked. I will end the review with rating of the movie and a short overall thoughts.

On the docket today, the 1.3 millionth installment of the Terminator franchise. The $185 million dollar Terminator: Dark Fate.

Plot: Sarah Connor and a hybrid cyborg human must protect a young girl from a newly modified liquid Terminator from the future.

The Good:

Linda Hamilton: Her first appearance on-screen she commanded your attention. She was a true bad-ass this film needed. When I think back about the things that went right in this film, she is the center of a majority of it.

Natalia Reyes: I enjoyed her in this film. She was more of a product of everyone around her instead of being her own entity. She really stood out during that third act which really made me upset that we didn’t get more of her in the film.

The Bad:

The remaining cast members: I just didn’t care about them and the writing within the film really didn’t help them at all.

The writing: It was so lazy. Character development was bad. The story wasn’t innovative or creative at all.

The “action”: I swear I searched on IMDB this morning on whether or not Michael Bay had any part of this because it has his fingerprints all over this film. The crazy explosions out of no where, the random firework things in the background, it just felt like a Bay film.

The Ugly:

The fight sequences: I am sorry but we are in 2019 and the resources are endless to make these fight sequences good but they were so bad in this film. The big fight at the beginning was so bad that I wanted to walk out.

Oscar Prediction: LOL More like Razzies eligible.

The Verdict:

* 1/2 out of ***** gavels

If they would have wrote the movie the same way they wrote Linda Hamilton’s character, this film could have been good. But it wasn’t.

The first 15 minutes of this film was like one big cop-out. A few examples for you.

Snow Plow-like truck is driven like Paul Walker in Fast & the Furious.
A car rams into another car with Reyes/Davis within 3 feet of the car and it blows up and they don’t even have a spec of anything on them.

I have no clue how this movie got made but if they are willing to make a committee that ask certain individuals whether or not they should make a film or not, please make me the head of the board. I will save studios TONS of money.

Should You See It?: No. Don’t. Please go support a film like Parasite instead of this movie. You’ll thank me later.
