Welcome to another edition of Thinking Out Loud. Thinking Out Loud is where I go to the movies (or watch one at home) and take running thoughts and notes throughout, it gives you a raw inside look at my thoughts as I am watching the movie. I tend to do this with throw away fun movies (like this one) because while I spoil a lot of what happens, you get the jiff when you see the trailers regardless.
On the docket today, the highly anticipated 9th film out of Quentin Tarantino Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

DiCaprio-Pitt- Robbie
Babies will be made after this movie.

Old school film would be so cool to see.
I need Pacino’s home studio
Anybody order fried sauerkraut hahaha
Is literally pay lots of money to see all of these “movies” with Leo in them in full length.
I think if I stare into Leo’s baby blues long enough I might get pregnant.
No Tip for the Valet Driver? Brad Pitt’s a dick.
Margot Robbie ❤️
This movie should’ve been rated R for sexiness.
The ol Drive-in movie theater, God I love those.
First action of the movie is Pitt and his Dog making out.
Does Brad Pitt really know how to make Boxed Mac and Cheese
Hahahahaha you whine, you don’t eat. Funniest thing Pitt has ever said in a movie (he was talking to the dog)
Oh the playboy mansion!!!!!
Polanski is dressed like Austin powers.
DAMIEN LEWIS!!!!!
Hey you are Rick fucking Dalton and don’t you forget it

That moment so reminded me of the A Star is Born when Cooper told Gaga to turn around.
I love the attention to detail on Pitt’s arm with the scares. Details have always been on of the things I’m fond of in Tarantino’s movies
Pitt did Parkour much better than Michael Scott

Bruce Lee…..
Fight scene between Bruce Lee and Brad Pitt is straight money!!!!!!!!!!
I’m such a huge fan of movies within movies, they are just really fun.
The artistic way they introduced Charles Manson was well done.
(Mary Bello) when she schools DiCaprio on how to” be an actor is so funny as he sits there and does the opposite of what she is saying.
Ol Sharon Tate just snagging up a hitchhiker. Man those were the days.
One movie ticket: 75 cents.!!!! I wish!!!! I just paid 11.50 to get into this movie.
Margot Robbie with her feet up on the chair in front of her at the movies…. same!!!!!!
Why were Robbie’s feet so damn dirty?
How cool would it be to go to the movies and watch your own movie on the screen, must be such an amazing feeling.
Best toast ever: To my wife and all my sweethearts, I hope they never meet.
DiCaprio breaking down and talking to himself about messing up the lines, this scene was priceless. This is why I love him. This scene is why I love movies.
I’ve been in LA, it is not that easy to get from one place to another. LIES.
Man I love this soundtrack.
F*ck Da Police.
This hitchhiker that Pitt picked up don’t get her feet off my window, I’m gonna scream.
Her: Thanks for giving Pussy a ride home.
Her: We Love Pussy
Pitt: Yes we Do
I just love the fact he has posters all over the place of himself. Rick Dalton is Rick Dalton’s biggest fan.
Cigarette dipped in acid cost 50 cent, that cost me like $100 last night (I’m kidding folks)
Fucking hippies
Ginger haired fucker
Some truly amazing one liners in this movie.
I’m as real as a donut, motherfucker
This acid trip scene leading to the dog biting the shit out of the Manson crew is amazing. Pitt was beautiful in this scene holy cow. He just acted his ass off and beat the hell out of everyone.
Holy hell, DiCaprio has the flamethrower!!!!!
This entire scene was amazing. It was so Tarintino and it was so beautiful.
The Verdict:
**** out of ***** gavels
This is the most tame movie Tarantino has ever brought to the big screen, I can’t talk enough about how much I love the third act and that alone was worth two stars. This movie does have it’s flaws, the entire Sharon Tate thing and I didn’t really care for Pacino’s role or his character direction either. While the film was 2 hours and 45 minutes long, it didn’t feel like it, but at the same time if you cut out about 25-30 minutes out of this film, we might be talking about the best movie of 2019.
On the flip side, what Tarantino was able to pull out of Brad Pitt in this film, I still can’t get over this. I have never seen Pitt show so many range of emotions and just take over a film the way he did in this one. Leo was Leo, I expect nothing less.
My rating is a little biased I think out of pure enjoyment, I do think a rewatch of this film could change the rating for the good or the bad.
Should You See It?: Yes. Just for Pitt’s performance alone (never thought I’d type that). It’s a fun movie with some great acting, a fun soundtrack and hands down one of the best third acts you will ever see in film.
