May was definitely an exciting month for baseball; we’ve seen the rise of the Rays and the fall of the Dodgers. The Angels have also awoken and rode a surprise Jason Vargas to a 5-0 record for the month. With May over, I am here to bring you my bold predictions for the month of June.
Top 5 Bold Predictions
The Angels will inch closer to 1st place and may take it over by months end –
The A’s have been as hot as the Angels, with both winning 8 of their last 10. Though with the return of Weaver, and Varags/Williams both stepping up to the plate, this Angels team is hitting their stride at the right time. Mike Trout is hitting, Hamilton wasn’t as bad in May as he was in April and Trumbo is belting HRs left and right. So I think by the end of the month, the Angels will be within a few games of the division, if not take over the Rangers.
The Rockies will fall to last place in the NL West.
After getting off to a hot start, the Rockies have been just .500 since. They are +27 for run differential but still struggling. With the Padres slowly creeping within a few games of them, and if the Dodgers show any improvement, I see the Rockies falling into last place.
Matt Kemp will miss the month of June.
The struggling Kemp was placed on the DL for a hamstring injury. The same injury that kept him out for 51 games last season (different leg this time). Unfortunately he has struggled at the plate this season, hitting a rough .251 with only 2 HRs & 17 RBIs. They’re saying now he will only be out the 15 days, but I think otherwise and expect him to miss the whole month. I don’t think he wants to rush back and re-injure himself like he did last season. I look for him to take his time getting back.
Chris Davis will hit 12 HRs and have a total of 35 before the All-Star Break.
This man is on fire. I thought for sure that at some point he would cool off. He proved me and a lot of other skeptics wrong by having an even better month. He is hitting a career high .353 with 19 HRs & 50 RBIs and its only MAY!!!! Last year, he hit a total of 33 HRs & 85 RBIs for the entire season. I think he easily reaches 12 HRs again for the month of June and on his way to having 35 before the All-Star game.
We will have not 1 but 2 No-Hitters in the month of June.
I am not sure who or when they will happen, but in this month we are going to see 2 no-hitters. I think one will come from a “star” SP and one will be a surprise pitcher that no one sees coming.
Quick Predictions –
I think Ron Roenicke (Brewers Manager) could get fired in June if he has another rough month. (5-23 in May)
Miguel Cabrera reaches 100 RBIs before the Break.
The Rays take over 1st place and have a 3 game lead over whoever is in 2nd.
Red Sox will finish 10-18 in the month of June falling into 4th Place.
