Why I ranked (blank) higher than his Current ADP (ADP average comes from the rankings at Fantasypros.com)

Ricky – Zack Greinke – Current ADP 13th – I have him 8th – Post All-Star he was 7-2 with a 1.85 ERA and .98 WHIP. He will pick up where he left off in 2013. I really like him ahead of guys like Strasburg, Fernandez and even Scherzer all of whom are being drafted ahead of him.

Matt Bell – Chris Sale comes in a bit higher in my rankings at number 5 while carrying an ADP of 10th. He’s going to be one of the first pitchers I’ll target this year based on where I can grab him in drafts. He can rack up the strike outs and keeps the ERA low enough to dominate the starting pitching categories. The problem last year was his lack of offense from the White Sox and if he can get some run support a  15 to 20 win season is not out of the question for Sale.

Why I ranked (blank) lower than his current ADP.

Ricky – Stephen Strasburg – Current ADP 6 – I have him ranked 12th – It’s crazy how his split at home and are so different. He was 5-4 with a 1.73 ERA at home and 3-5 with a 4.50 ERA on the road. He ranks in the same boat as Harper this season. Both have all the potential in the world but I am not riding the boom or bust wagon for either of them this year.

Matt Bell – Cole Hamels is the biggest dropper from my rankings at 21 with an ADP of 14th. The drop in my rankings isn’t all about the fact of Hamels declining, but it’s more about the fact that he’s just not dominant with the Phillies offense to justify a higher pitcher ranking for me. Hamels has to do better than his 3.6 ERA he carried last year to be a worthy fantasy pitcher this year.

In case you missed these, here are my Catcher Rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BY), 1st baseman (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BZ), 2nd baseman rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-C2), 3rd Baseman Rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-C7), Shortstop rankings(http://wp.me/p2MUTr-Cb) and Outfield rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-Ch).

WWE Elimination Chamber Predictions

Welcome back to another edition of our WWE PPV predictions, this time we have one of my favourite gimmick matches in the Elimination Chamber. We’re only weeks away from the grandest stage of them all, Wrestlemania, so a lot of important things will be happening on Sunday. We’ve got a star studded match inside the Chamber, that has only seemed to look even better as the weeks passed, and we also have one of the most anticipated matches in WWE history, and that is not an overstatement in The Wyatt Family vs The Shield. But first, let’s get to the pre-show…

Pre-Show: Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs RybAxel

Matt B: RybAxel wins this one as there is no reason for the Rhodes brothers to win. I think this match will end with some friction between the two brothers that leads up to their rumored match at WrestleMania.

Ricky: RybAxel is such an awful name honestly. Can anyone believe how Goldust has looked on this run he has had over the last few months? He has looked great in the ring and wrestled well. It’s nice to see an “older” star keep it together and still is able to go every now and then. Ummm toss a coin here and give me the brothers.

Matt W: Of all the tag teams in WWE right now, the one that I can’t truly enjoy, is RybAxel. I’ve grown to like Ryback more, but they don’t have anything special together. I think the Brotherhood wins this one, but not without some friction, think Cody or Goldie tagging in blind and stealing a pin. Nothing to send it over the edge, but enough to create discomfort.

Darren Young vs. Titus O’Neil

Matt B: This is by far the worst match on the card and I don’t even understand why two guys that no one enjoys watching on Raw even make it to the pay-per view card. I think Titus O’Neil wins this match, but there is much better talent in the WWE locker room worthy of a match on this PPV.

Ricky: Titus is getting the big push and should handle Young rather easily in this matchup. O’Neil has the size and the look but not sure it will really amount too much.

Matt W: I’ve really liked what Titus has brought these past few weeks, he’s super entertaining, full of confidence, and is decent in the ring as well. He wins this one.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Batista

Matt B: Does anyone really think Alberto Del Rio has a chance to win this match? NO!

Ricky: It’s really interesting to hear the rumors of Del Rio maybe leaving when his contract expires soon. With that being said he has no chance in this match at all. I would have a better chance of winning this match. (I would destroy Batista, Well maybe with a little help from Matt Bell and Matt Wincherauk we could get him). But yeah 45 Batista bombs later and Batista wins.

Matt W: I think the Sports Script trio could take down Batista, considering he can hardly move, but in this match, BOO-tista will win. Let’s just hope he doesn’t tear anything trying to Batista Bomb Del Rio.

WWE Tag Team Championships: The New Age Outlaws (c) vs. The Usos

Matt B: I’m going to just go with my hopes here and that is that The Usos win and the New Age Outlaws get back out of the rings. They are entertaining, but they are old and the tag team division has to much talent for them to be holding the belts.

Ricky: The Usos have been getting a nice little side push (for the 80th time) but give me the NAO to keep the belts heading in WrestleMania.

Matt W: I wish I could say that the Usos are going to win this match, but they aren’t. They’re setting up a big moment at Wrestlemania for the New Age Outlaws to drop the titles, and it won’t be to the Usos. Unfortunate, but these guys will eventually get their run after Mania some time.

Intercontinental Championship: Big E (c) vs Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter

Matt B: Big E wins this one as Jack Swagger has a potential feud building with Cesaro and Zeb Colter. Big E still has a lot he can do for the Intercontinetal division and it makes little to no sense for Swagger to take that as he’s in a let down stage for Colter.

Ricky: Big E is one of my favorite up and coming wrestlers. I really wish they would adapt the “count to 5” thing he had going on in NXT. He has a great look and I swear should be pushed to the moon. Swagger has been in a bit of a slump as of late and I think that continues here. Give me Big E with the W.

Matt W: Big E has supplanted Damien Sandow as my personal favourite. His charisma is really shining through, and once he start five-ing it up, then he’s going straight to the moon. Jack Swagger has been really good of late despite losing a lot of matches, so he should be a lot of fun even in a loss. Two personal favourites of mine, and Zeb Colter should mean for a fun match.

The Wyatt Family vs The Shield

Matt B: I actually will be watching the PPV just for this match as I think it could be a nice brawl. The Wyatt Family will walk away with the win in the end though as I believe we start to see The Shield coming to an end as they’ve already shown signs of making these guys individual stars.

Ricky: The match I am really looking forward to the most. The potential is endless for this match and it’s been a really long time since we have seen a match between two “bad guy” teams like this and I am truly excited for it. Dean Ambrose is one of the best things going for the company and Roman Reigns is the “next big thing” no offense Brock. I think the Shield should win as the Family doesn’t “need” this victory. But maybe some arguing between Shield members or a walk out by Reigns sets up a Wyatt Family win.

Matt W: No joke, one of the most anticipated matches in WWE history, these two are going to blow the roof off the place. All the tense moments in the past week, Bray and even Luke’s awesome talking, the friction between the Shield, Roman Reigns somehow becoming more badass, and Ambrose playing the role of the poser to perfection, this match has everything. This is why I’m tuning in, even above the Elimination Chamber match.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match: Randy Orton (c) vs John Cena vs Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus vs Christian vs Cesaro

Matt B: This has a ton of talent in the match, but it all comes down to who WWE thinks they can build a WrestleMania card around. Randy Orton wins the match and goes on to feud with Batista for a showdown at the Big Show. I’m looking for them to build Cesaro in this match as he will perform very well, not pick up the win. I can see Christan becoming the bad guy in the match sitting up him and Sheamus for a match and don’t be surprised if the Wyatt Family cost Cena somehow.

Ricky: I am so excited that they left Cesaro in this match. THIS GUY IS A STAR!!!!!!! I have seen this guy in person (trained with him a little) and he is strong as an ox. But yeah Christian isn’t going to win as he isn’t the “IT” guy anymore, Sheamus really has no place in this match (nor do I like him), Cesaro I think comes down to the final 3 but gets eliminated by Bryan. Which leaves us with Orton, Cena and Bryan, Cena will be eliminated somehow by Bray Wyatt interference and I think that would lead to a final two between Bryan and Orton. As much as I would like to see Bryan win the title and head into the WrestleMania Main Event champion, that’s just not going to happen. The WWE wants Batista vs. Orton way too bad at Mania and that’s sadly what we are going to get.

Matt W: Now this is going to be a phenomenal match. Four guys that I love are in this match, and two that I think are doing really good things as well. Cesaro is almost as hot as Daniel Bryan right now, and I’d look for him to continue to be strong, Bryan should be a finalist, Cena might get a Wyatt beating, Sheamus fits perfect inside the Chamber with his physical style and has been having quality matches just under that Bryan-Cesaro-Shield level of late, I’d hope that Orton plays the role of a snake and sneaks out with a win, and Christian… Well he’s there too. This has the makings of the best Chamber match in years, so you cannot miss it.

Burning Question:

The Wyatt Family and the Shield are the hottest thing going in WWE right now, and will have an epic clash at Elimination Chamber. Where do these two teams go afterwards? Who does Bray Wyatt target, and how does this Shield breakup scenario play out?

Matt B: Bray Wyatt is going to be matched up with Cena at WrestleMania and I believe that all starts here as they attack him in the PPV. The Shield will probably continue to show dysfunction into Raw on Monday possibly sitting them up for a match at WrestleMania after one turns on the others.

Ricky: As I said earlier I think Wyatt interferes and cost Cena the title during the Chamber, so I think that’s where they are going.

As for the Shield you really see the whole break up happening which is truly sad to see. I really think they should have a “make up” with them and maybe go after someone else and play it up and eventually heading into next year’s Mania we get Ambrose vs. Reigns. Ambrose and Rollins are going to get lost in the shuffle once the feud with Reigns is over. Reigns is going to turn into a massive baby face for the company and someone I could see them feuding Orton or maybe Batista down the road. I could even see him helping out Cena with the Wyatt family and getting that nice little rub from him.

ALSO LETS GET THE WWE NETWORK ROLLING!!!!!!!!!!

Matt W: I think that Bray Wyatt gets involved with John Cena, in a feud that could really put him over the top, if he wasn’t there already. As for The Shield, the obvious answer is that they move into full breakup mode. I’d like to see these guys not completely break up, but kind of stay friends while going there own ways. That being said, that probably won’t happen, but I’ll be fine if I see a Shield Triple Threat match for the US Title at Wrestlemania.

Enjoy the PPV folks, and we’ll see you back here in a few weeks for our Wrestlemania extravaganza!

Why I ranked (blank) higher than his Current ADP (ADP average comes from the rankings at Fantasypros.com)

Ricky – Yasiel Puig – Current ADP 10th – I have him ranked 3rd – Puig has the oppurtinuty to become one of the best outfielders in baseball. He has all the tools to do so and I think he will just add onto what he did in 2013. Puig is a 5 category guy and someone I would draft as high as 4th overall this year. In most drafts he will slip into the top half of round 2 and if you can get him on the 12-13 turn, you will not regret it.

Matt Bell – Giancarlo Stanton is going to be a steal in the outfield this year if you ask me. He’s got an ADP of 10th, but I’ll be snagging him ahead of some of the other guys people plan to take before him. He’s at 7th in my rankings and that’s simply because of the power he possesses. He’s been held back by injuries in his career, but if he gets a full season healthy 40 plus home runs is not out of reach.

Why I ranked (blank) lower than his current ADP.

Ricky – Bryce Harper – Current ADP 5 – I ranked him 8th – Harper was a disapointment this season and for some reason is being overdrafted this season. The price is too steep for a guy that really hasn’t lived up to potential.

Matt Bell – Carlos Gomez is a guy that I’m not very high on as he’s got an ADP of 9th, but can be found at 18th in my rankings. Gomez has had been getting better, but he strikes out a ton and one really good year is not enough for me to rank him ahead of some of the other outfielders in the league. I can even see him taking a step back in some of his stats next year.

2014 Fantasy Baseball Shortstop Rankings

Matt Bell is joining me today as we rank ShortStop as well as take a look at one guy we like higher than his ADP and one we have lower than his ADP.

2014 Fantasy Baseball Shortstop Rankings (as of 02/21/14)

Rank Ricky Valero Matt Bell
1 Hanley Ramirez Troy Tulowitzki
2 Troy Tulowitzki Hanley Ramirez
3 Ian Desmond Ian Desmond
4 Jose Reyes Jose Reyes
5 Jean Segura Elvis Andrus
6 Elvis Andrus Starlin Castro
7 Starlin Castro Jean Segura
8 Everth Cabrera Everth Cabrera
9 Alexei Ramirez JJ Hardy
10 Ben Zobrist Alexei Ramirez
11 JJ Hardy Ben Zobrist
12 Jed Lowrie Jonathan Villar
13 Jhonny Peralta Brad Miller
14 Asdrubal Cabrera Jhonny Peralta
15 Andrelton Simmons Asdrubal Cabrera
16 Xander Bogaerts Jed Lowrie
17 Jimmy Rollins Jurickson Profar
18 Erick Aybar Andreltton   Simmons
19 Jonathan Viller Jimmy Rollins
20 Bradley Miller Xander Bogaerts
21 Jurickson Profar Erick Aybar
22 Derek Jeter Alcides Escobar
23 Alcides Escobar Zack Cozard
24 Zack Cozart Derek Jeter
25 Stephen Drew Stephen Drew

Why I ranked (blank) higher than his Current ADP (ADP average comes from the rankings at Fantasypros.com)

Ricky – Alexei Ramirez – Current ADP 14th – I have him ranked 9th – Ramirez RBIs dropped last season in a weak White Sox lineup but saw his batting average, hits, runs and stolen bases increase. Abreu added to this lineup will help Ramirez see some better pitches as well. A solid average, gets on base and steals as well, he will help you all the way around.

Matt Bell – Jonathan Villar is my sleeper in all fantasy leagues this year as I really like what this guy can do. He’s got an ADP of 19th, but is all the way up to the 12th spot in my rankings. He has the potential to steal 35 or more bases this year as he snagged 18 in only 58 games last year. If you miss out on Tulo or Hanley in the 1st few rounds you can always let the SS spot fall to the late rounds and grab Villar who can help in the stolen base category quite a bit.

Why I ranked (blank) lower than his current ADP.

Ricky – Asdrubal Cabrera – Current ADP 11th – I have him ranked 14th – Cabrera is on the downside of his career and honestly don’t believe he is worth a slot on the roster. In 2014, he might only be a one maybe two category guy which is just not good enough for fantasy owners.

Matt Bell – Jean Segura is a little lower in my rankings than most as he’s got an ADP of 4, but in my rankings you will find him down at 7th. I think he’s a going to be a good shortstop, but we’ve only seen him play one full season so far. I want to see more from this young shortstop, before I can rank him ahead of a few guys. I’m also putting him behind Castro who I’m fully expecting to have a bounce back year and I think has a chance to equal his stats with a few more home runs.

In case you missed these, here are my Catcher Rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BY), 1st baseman (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BZ), 2nd baseman rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-C2) and 3rd Baseman Rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-C7).

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 2/21

The notes I take away from the 3 games on Thursday is I still hate the Bucks and Larry Drew for trolling all daily fantasy players. The second is that Lebron James does in fact bleed red blood like the rest of the humans in the world. That’s all I learned on Thursday, but after looking at this Friday slate of 10 games I’m ready to move on. These are the guys I’ll be looking to roster for my fantasy teams on Friday.

THE STUDS (I am only listing the studs that I will be considering for rosters)

Carmelo Anthony up against the Magic! Just look at the numbers he’s been posting and you’ll realize he’s worth paying for in daily fantasy!

Blake Griffin is playing at an elite level right now coming with in 1 points of scoring over 50 fantasy points in 6 straight games. I have to list him, but you do have to proceed with caution as he will be up against Memphis and the last time he was in Memphis was only able to post 31 fantasy points. He’s a nice GPP type play and should have a low percentage owned.

Joakim Noah is going to find his place in my 3rd stud slot, which might turn some heads with some of the other names playing on Friday! He’s matched up with a Denver team that is ranked 29th at defending the center over the last 10 games and Noah has been one of the hottest centers in the game. Noah can fill up all the stat categories and is a safe bet to reach 30 fantasy points with a pretty high ceiling.

NOW ONTO THE REST OF THE PLAYS

Kyle Lowry finds himself in a decent situation with Kyrie Irving coming to town on Friday. We all know Kyrie is not a good defender and Lowry has been putting up good numbers all year. He’s up against a Cleveland team that is giving up 105 points over the last 10 games on the road this season, which could mean a fantasy back court of Lowry and Derozan could pay off nicely on Friday night.

Kemba Walker is one player that I’ve noticed might have been affected by a nice all-star break weekend off from basketball. He’s came back with two really solid games including his best of the season on Wednesday night. He’s not going to be up against Brian Roberts who he should be able to abuse on the offensive end of the floor. Kemba is always a better play at home as his career stats reflect and that is why he will be one of my top point guard plays on Friday.

Goran Dragic is the last point guard I’ll list, but wow he’s worth of a play to! You have to look back to Jan 22nd to find a game where he didn’t post 30 fantasy points and now he’s going up against a banged up Spurs back court that is in the bottom half of defending opposing guards. Dragic is shooting over 50% at home this year and posting 20 ppg and 7 assists on average. I look for him to have a huge game against the Spurs, and just hope you are playing on a site where you can get him at a SG spot.

(The point guard position is loaded for Friday you can also make a case for Rondo and Kendall Marshall for you PG plays. I’d rank the 5 I’ve listed in this order and considering their price Kemba, Marshall, Dragic, Rondo, and Lowry. Good Luck picking the right ones!)

Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis will be up against Philadelphia on Friday and both make an argument for great plays on Friday. I will say I’m a bit concerned about a few things here and that is how the trades for Philadelphia will all shake out there rosters. This game could get ugly and Dallas starters be done early. That being said though they could easily hit value in 3 quarters on Friday night and are priced pretty nicely around the industry.

Robin Lopez is going to benefit a ton from Aldridge being out and the other injuries in the Blazers front court with all the minutes he can handle. He played 34 on Wednesday night and posted over 30 fantasy points against them. Lopez is much more athletic than what Enes Kanter (who will start without Derek Favors) and will abuse him on the boards on Friday.

AND THE VALUE GUYS TO FIT THE STUDS

Philadelphia 76ers guys will have a ton of value with the trades that went down. I’m writing to early to pin point the guys to target exactly, but keep an eye on their beat writers and who is starting for them. They will be cheap enough to carry a ton of value.

Tim Hardaway Jr should see a ton of action on Friday with Iman Shumpert back on the shelve for a couple of games. Hardaway has been playing great over the last two games posting back to back games over 25 fantasy points and is priced near minimum on a ton of sites.

Patty Mills (if you want to play around with the Spurs and Pop) is in play for Friday night. Parker is still listed as out and it seems that Mills is locked into 25 plus minutes of action at the point guard slot. He’s going to be in a high paced game and has posted 37 and 40 fantasy points in the last 2 games.

Ricky  Josh Donaldson – Current ADP 7 – I have him ranked 4th – Donaldson had a career season last year hitting .301 with 24 HR and 93 RBIs. He hit well on both sides of the break last season, showing that he wasn’t a fluke. Donaldson will again prove to be a top 3rd base option this season. Give me Donaldson over Longoria, Alvarez and Zimmerman in 2014.

Matt Bell – Manny Machado has an ADP of 13th, but you’ll see I’ve got him 5th and this might be my most reach of any guy in my rankings! I love what Machado can do for his team and I feel like people are knocking him down because of his injury to end last season. He’s a young player though and all signs point to him being fully ready to go this season. He carries a nice batting average and can contribute in other categories as well.

Guy I have lower than his current ADP.

Ricky – Evan Longoria – Current ADP 4 – I have him ranked 6th – Longoria had one his worst seasons at the plate since his rookie year. He struck out way too much and showed little patience at the plate. While the HRs may still be there, I think the average stays where it is and he doesn’t fufill his ADP this season.

Matt Bell – Pedro Alvarez falls to 12th in my rankings with a ADP of 9th. I love the Alvarez can hit a ton of home runs, but in reality that is all he does. He doesn’t have the potential to carry you in many categories, but home runs. He can lead the league in home runs, but he may also lead it in strike outs as well.

In case you missed these, here are my Catcher Rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BY), 1st baseman (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BZ) and 2nd baseman rankings (http://wp.me/p2MUTr-C2)

Why I ranked (blank) higher than his Current ADP (ADP average comes from the rankings at Fantasypros.com)

Ricky – Daniel Murphy – Current ADP 14 – I ranked him 9th – Murphy is one of my big-time sleepers heading in the 2014 fantasy season. While his OBP isn’t great the rest of his 2013 stats were pretty impressive. He is a 5 category player (career high 23 stolen bases last year) and you honestly won’t get that from many other 2nd baseman. I believe he hits .280 with 13 HRs, 75 RBIs, 80 Rs and 15 SBs.

Matt Bell – Ben Zobrist has an ADP of 6, but I’ve got him ranked 9th as I feel like he’s a bit of risk to be taken very highly. Last season he had a higher average batting wise, but saw a decrease in home runs, stolen bases, and RBI’s. They are slight decreases as I noted, but it as he gets older it’s just worth watching and I think there are better 2nd baseman behind him.

Why I ranked (blank) lower than his current ADP.

Ricky – Aaron Hill – ADP 10 – I ranked him 14 – I have seen him as high as 6 on the rankings and I just don’t see it. His stats have been all over the place since 2011. You don’t know which Aaron Hill you are going to get. And the one stat (Stolen bases) that he provided an extra pop in, he only had 1 in 87 games last season. I just don’t trust him.

Matt Bell – Jose Altuve is a guy I’ll be targeting in just about all my drafts as he has an ADP of  7, but you will see him ranked slightly higher at 6 in mine. I know that’s not a big difference, but I feel he could be even higher among 2B this year. Altuve gets a little lost in drafts because he plays for Houston, but he’s young and has a ton of speed on the base paths.

This week we already unleashed our Catchers & 1st baseman and you can find them here:  (C) http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BY & here: (1st)http://wp.me/p2MUTr-BZ

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 2/19

The first day back of daily fantasy NBA is in the books and we have to stay right on the grind as the NBA brings us an 11 game slate. Let’s get right into it with the guys I will be looking at for my rosters on Wednesday.

THE STUDS (I am only listing the studs that I will be considering for rosters)

Steph Curry is in action on Wednesday and has went over 40 fantasy points in 6 of the last 7 games. He’s priced high, but he has one of the highest ceilings of any player.

Carmelo Anthony is always going to appear in my stud section and especially when he play a team like the Pelicans. Carmelo is going to get his shots off and has a pretty low floor.

James Harden makes an appearance here as we all know what he can do and he’s playing the Lakers! #nuffsaid

John Wall has had some down games, but let’s be real he’s reached the stud status for fantasy point guards. He’ll be up against a Hawks team that is ranked 24th over the last 10 in defending the PG, so he’s in play for sure on Wednesday. (I usually stay away from John Wall on the road as his numbers do take a slight hit, so consider yourself warned.)

NOW ONTO THE REST OF THE PLAYS

Kemba Walker just scored 22 points on the road against this same Detroit team he will turn around and play on Wednesday again. This time he gets them at home where he has been a better player in his career. Kemba went for 53 fantasy points in the game he had with Detroit before the last night, so he’s going to be a guy I give a hard look for sure when making rosters.

Lance Stephenson is a hard guy to predict as you never know when he will go for one of those triple-double games. He’s got the match up to do that on Wednesday as the Mavericks have been the worst team at defending the SG over the last 10 games. I don’t look for Stephenson to get the triple double in this one, but he’s going to have a solid game hit value which is what I usually look for in my SG position.

Al Jefferson makes the plays today, but I have to admit I do make myself a bit nervous listing two Bobcats in the article. If you take a look at what he did against Detroit last night as well you will see 57.5 fantasy points and if I can get that against on Wednesday then I’ll be more than happy. Al Jefferson has been a force on the inside for the Bobcats with 3 games over 50 fantasy points in the last 6.

Dwight Howard is heading back to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers in his first game back since leaving during the off-season. He’s about the most inconsistent guy I’ve ever listed, but the Lakers have nothing inside that can stop him if he decides to play. I can’t think of any reason why he wouldn’t want to dominate them in this game. He’s faced the Lakers twice this year already in Houston and in those games posted 47 and 33 fantasy points. He’s also a depressed price tag on most sites which helps me in making the decision to play him.

AND THE VALUE GUYS TO FIT THE STUDS

Brian Roberts has had a price increase on most sites from where he started as a value play, but he’s producing pretty well right now for the Pelicans. He’s posted over 25 fantasy points in 5 straight games for the Pelicans and makes for some nice cap flexibility.

Cory Joseph and Patty Mills are both decent value guys if you feel like playing Spurs point guard roulette with Tony Parker out. They both played over 20 minutes on Tuesday and  could easily hit value for their price tags on most sites.

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 2/18

DAILY FANTASY BASKETBALL IS BACK!!!!! Wow, I thought that break would never end! We’ve got a fairly nice slate of games today with 9 games on the slate, so let’s get right to it. These are the guys I’ll be considering for my daily fantasy line ups.

THE STUDS

Lebron James had two of his best games of the year in the last two fantasy performances. He posted fantasy point totals of 59 and 71 in those last two games and should continue to play at this high level.

Carmelo Anthony has a tough match up as Memphis has allowed the lowest total points over the last 10 games. Melo was still able to get 47 fantasy points the last time he played them and if he’s at a nice price might be a nice GPP play on Tuesday.

Blake Griffin is playing at an elite level right now, but has a somewhat tough match up with the Spurs on Tuesday. That being said he’s still averaged 32 fantasy points in 2 games against the Spurs, and with the way he’s playing right now he could be worth a play.

NOW ONTO THE REST OF THE PLAYS

Michael Carter-Williams might be over looked by some people simply because I fully expect people to be all over Kyrie Irving. Irving had a good all-star game and won the MVP, but I still don’t trust him to play any defense in any type of game. MCW has averaged 45 fantasy points over 3 contests already this year against Cleveland. He’s the type of point guard I really like to use because he can fill up the stat columns in a couple different categories.

Arron Affalo had some tough games before the all-star break, but I fully expect him to bounce back in the first game out. He’s got a nice match up with a Bucks team that struggles to defend the SG position. Affalo  had his best game of the year in a previous match up with the Bucks where he went for 64 fantasy points.

Goran Dragic ill be playing the Denver Nuggets in the first game back out of the break and they have been giving up a ton of points. Before the all-star break the Nuggets were giving up 110 points per game over the last 10 games. Dragic has scored over 20 points in 7 of the last 8 games before the break while also adding in some steals and assists to rack up the fantasy point total.

Nikola Vucevic seemed to be back and fully healthy before the break as he was able to play 37 minutes in both the games prior to the break. He’s matched up with a very weak Bucks front court that should allow him to post a double-double in this contest. He’s averaging 32.5 fantasy points in the two previous contests with the Bucks this year.

Wilson Chandler should benefit from Ty Lawson being out again and he’s been pretty consistent without him. He’s priced fairly around the industry and has posted 24 or more fantasy points in the last 5 games. Phoenix is giving up 105 points per game and I fully expect Chandler to get his fair amount of shots.

AND THE VALUE GUYS TO FIT THE STUDS

Dion Waiters is priced pretty well around the industry, but he does come with a slight risk. He’s played over 20 minutes in each of the last 5 games and will be matched up with the 76ers who are 28th against the SG position.

Kyle Singler has played over 30 minutes in 7 straight games and even over 40 at times. He’s priced near minimum on most sites and as long as he’s priced there then you have a good chance to hit value in those type of minutes. He’s put up at least 20 fantasy points in the last 2 games before the all-star break.

EARLY NOTES

Mike Conley will play for the Grizzlies so the value of Nick Calathes is gone.

Ty Lawson is expected to miss the Nuggets game.

Anderson Varejao did not travel with the Cavaliers for their game.
