The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/17

The NBA 2 game slate on Thursday night is just what I need to get refreshed for the 12 game slate that awaits on Friday night. I’ve broken down the action and have come up with the following guys that I think are worth rostering on Friday. I really would like to get the point out that these plays are up for discussion and would like to hear from some readers on twitter to discuss.

Hit me on twitter by following me —> @mattbell211

Here we go…………………………………………….

Kevin Durant is simply the best player in the NBA from a fantasy standpoint right now. He’s averaging 49 fantasy points per game and has ceiling that goes above 70 fantasy points.

Lebron James created a daily fantasy buzz for his game Wednesday with some comments he made in the press. He didn’t really live up to those comments from a fantasy standpoint with only his usual 45 fantasy points. I think after the loss on Wednesday and trip to Philly where they are giving up the most points in the league could be just what Lebron needs for the huge fantasy game.

Steph Curry is a guy I just can’t seem to ever go without mentioning in this section. He just has one of the highest ceilings of any fantasy player you can choose from and has a prime match up against Durant in which I expect him to show up big during.

Carmelo Anthony has been playing really well over the course of his last 5 games putting up 2 50 point fantasy games and one 48 fantasy point game. He’s playing an average of 39 minutes per game and will have to score to keep the Knicks in this one with the Clippers.

Kevin Love is coming off a pretty good game, but his price is so high right now you need him to produce 50 or more fantasy points on most sites. Toronto is playing really good basketball right now and allowing the 3rd least points per game this year. I think they find a way to slow him down.

Demarcus Cousins is matched up with Memphis and Marc Gasol is now back. Cousins price has gotten to a point it is higher than Lebron and Love on some sites and it will be tough to reach value with this match up. There are better options when paying up on Friday.

Ty Lawson is coming off back to back 40 or more point fantasy games and now gets a match up with Kyrie Irving. Irving has no interested playing defense at all and that should allow Lawson to continue his 40 points games. He’s averaging 35 fantasy points per game this year and should reach value in this contest.

Spencer Hawes is a name I sit and stared at for a few minutes before deciding yeah I’m writing this guy in for Friday. The Heat struggle to rebound and are 21st in defending the center positions. Hawes was able to put up 37 fantasy points the last time he faced the Heat and if he’s able to grab a few more rebounds he’s got an easy double double in this contest. Hawes also gets the match up at home where he is shooting 52% this year.

Demar Derozan and Kyle Lowry are both going to make great fantasy options on Friday as they take on the Timberwolves who are allowing 103 points per game over the last 10. I’m going to be looking more towards playing Derozan in this one as the Timberwolves play a fast pace game which will allow him to put up more shots. Derozan hasn’t finished below 35 fantasy points in any of his last 6 games.

Al Jefferson has gone over 20 real points in the last two games and finally is doing what many thought he would in Charlotte which is fill up stat sheets. He’s being let loose by the Bobcats as he’s playing close to 40 minutes per game and will draw a match up with Orlando who will have to attempt to stop him with Big Baby Davis. I’m thinking Jefferson could do big things on Friday night.

Brandon Jennings has been such a roller coaster when I’ve played him at times this year, but if you’ve watched Trey Burke try to play defense you will see why I like Jennings on Friday. The Pistons are well rested and Jennings can provide you with stats in just about all categories. You never know when Jennings might take the night off though, so I’d only use him in your GPP games.

Jared Sullinger is the guy I’m most likely going to target from Boston as the back court is going to be hard to figure out with Rondo back. The Lakers are giving up 113 points per game over the last 10 games. The return of Rondo will get Sully more shot options as I can see Rondo dishing it inside to him more often. Sully has had double-digit rebounds in the last 4 games and as long as he’s out of foul trouble I don’t see anyone on the Lakers stopping him.

Alec Burks is a guy I’ll be all over if Gordan Hayward sits out again on Friday. Burks has logged 38 minutes in each of the last two games in Hayward’s absence and has produced in both games. If he’s starting he’s going to get plenty of shots as he’s taken 17 and 19 shots in the last 2 which almost assures you he can hit value.

Wesley Johnson basically plays every useful minute right now for the Lakers and should see at least 38 minutes of action again on Friday. Johnson is the type of player that can contribute in just about every statistical category and right now while he’s getting around 12 shots per game he’s the ideal value guy.

Courtney Lee didn’t produce the value lines we were all hoping for on Wednesday, but I’m expecting him to bounce back on Friday. As long as Tony Allen doesn’t play he will see his 25 minutes of action. He just needs to get the shots falling early and we will see another of his 20 plus fantasy point games.

Josh McRoberts is like the little sidekick to the Big Al show in Charlotte, but with a match up against Orlando I can see both guys hitting value. McRoberts plays close to 30 minutes per game and has seen a decrease in price lately due to his lack of production. I think he bounces back in this contest and makes for a decent value play.

The situation in Orlando is one we need to monitor as the day goes and the injury announcement for Affalo comes out. Affalo was supposed to return on Wednesday but was held out one more game. If he’s held out in this one I’m going to be all over Jameer Nelson and Victor Oladipo. The Bobcats do not defend the guard position well, but my best guess is Affalo is going to play which kills the value in these guys.
Rajon Rondo is going to be play on Friday for the Celtics, so I’m avoiding the Celtics back court till we see how this shakes out.

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/15

The Tuesday slate was pretty sad compared to what we have for Wednesday. There a ton of studs in play for us to choose from and it’s going to take some skill to pull of the big win with the right roster placement. There are 12 games in play on Wednesday and while I’ve listed some options that I like on Wednesday there are still several other guys up for discussion that are roster worthy. Lets take a look at some of the guys I’ll be playing on Wednesday.

Kevin Love – Love has had a few bad games lately for his standards, but he’s eventually going to explode for one of his huge fantasy games and now might be the time to play him while his salary is down.

Steph Curry – He’s had a few down to earth games recently, but as always with Curry he can explode for a 70 fantasy point night at anytime.

Lebron James – James doesn’t put up huge fantasy numbers for his relatively high price tag, but he has gone for over 4o of more fantasy points in 7 of his last 10 and is almost a lock to go over that mark in this one.

James Harden – The Pelicans not only have an ugly mascot, but they also have ugly rating against opposing SG’s. Harden has gone over 40 fantasy points in 5 of the last 5 games including 3 games over 50 fantasy points.

Demarcus Cousins – Cousins is now going with the elite studs as he impressed and won me over on Tuesday night against the Pacers. He’s got an easier match up on Wednesday against the Timberwolves and will for sure find his way into some of my line ups.

Lamarcus Aldridge – He’s a beast is all I can say. I thought about putting him in the next category, but he’s posted less than 30 fantasy points in only 1 game all year. I look for him to abuse the Cavs on the inside on Wednesday.

Al Jefferson put up a season high 35 points in Tuesday game and now gets a match up with a Philadelphia team that is ranked last in stopping opposing centers over the last 10 games. Jefferson has actually been a little better on the road this year shooting 47% as opposed to only 43% at home.

Damian Lillard has some ugly game longs if you look at them as a whole. He’s had back to back games of 25 fantasy points after putting up 59 in the one before those. He’s going to have a very nice match up on Wednesday against a Cavaliers team coming in on a back to back. I would put a floor on Lillards fantasy points of being around that 25 point mark, but he also has a celing of around 60 if he gets hot.

Michael Carter Williams is posting solid fantasy games by contributing in every statistical category. He has fantasy point totals all over the board, but he hasn’t finished below 20 fantasy points in any game this year, making him a great cash game play.

David Lee put up 42 fantasy points the last time he played the Nuggets and now gets them again on Wednesday. Lee is shooting 54% at home this year and is a pretty consistent fantasy player making him a great cash game play in this contest.

Tony Parker is pretty cheap around the industry and has posted 3 straight games over 30 fantasy points. Utah’s Trey Burke will have the assignment of guarding him on Wednesday and I expect Parker to abuse him. Parker will be at home where he has shot 53% this year.

Thaddeus Young has posted over 30 fantasy points in 9 of the last 10 games, but does have an ugly 9 fantasy point game in there. He’s more than likely not going to put up just 9 fantasy points against a Charlotte team that ranks dead last in defending the PF.

Bradley Beal is going to be one of my sneaky GPP plays on Wednesday as the shooting guard position has been killing the Heat over the past few games. Beal’s price has fallen, but he’s sure to get 30 minutes of action and has put up over 25 fantasy points in each of his last 4 games.

Gerald Green is shooting a full 6% better at home than on the road and now gets to face the Lakers horrid defense on Wednesday. The Lakers are 2nd to last in defending the opposing SG in the last 3 games.

Brian Roberts is playing over 30 minutes per game and is matched up with a poor defensive back court in Houston. He’s posted 30 and 25 fantasy point totals in his last two games.

Patrick Patterson has been given an opportunity in Toronto and seems to be embracing the role. He’s played over 20 minutes in 4 of the last 5 games and has reached at least 20 fantasy points going over 30 twice in those contests.

Khris Middelton is questionable for the Bucks at Memphis. I’m not sure there is any value in this unless you want to gamble on someone.

If Pau Gasol seems healthy coming out of Tuesday’s contest then he might be a guy I’ll target on Wednesday. That is a situation worth monitoring as the day goes on.

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/14

Here we got a 4 game slate for this Tuesday, but boy is it interesting! I usually don’t play anything with 3 or fewer games so with 4 I’m going to be all over the action. This is going to be a tricky night with picking players a I feel with a couple of studs in action and the hard nose Pacers defense. I’m going to go on and predict it to be a low scoring night in the NBA with only 4 games with Memphis and Indiana in action. Let’s take a look at the guys I’m targeting for Tuesday.

Carmelo Anthony – Melo is going to take a slight hit to his production if Chandler returns to action which is very possible for Tuesday. Melo is still a top play, but if his price has gotten extremely high then be careful playing him as you might want to spend the salary in other spots.

Kevin Durant – I don’t care about the match up or who’s guarding him he’s best player in the NBA when it comes down to fantasy options.

Paul George – He’s always got the potential to put up the highest fantasy point total of the night, but he’s also got the potential to post a fantasy dud. He’s got a prime match up with Sacramento who ranks towards the bottoms in stopping opposing PF’s.

Mike Conley is not a guy you’re going to want to sleep on Tuesday. He’s had 3 of his best games now in a row and has become one of primary scorers on the Grizzlies. He’s posted fantasy point totals of 52, 42, and 48. Conley is shooting 49% at home this year as opposed to 40% on the road and putting up a full 5 points per game more at home.

Demarcus Cousins has on paper the worst match up possible for a center, so I would avoid for sure if it’s a cash game. That being said though Cousins might be the best center in the NBA right now and could still have a huge game that could give you a leg up in GPP’s.

Anderson Varejao is going to be one of my most rostered guys on Tuesday especially if Pau Gasol doesn’t go. The Lakers are already one of the worst teams at defending the interior and without Gasol he should have no problem posting a double double on Tuesday.

Kendall Marshall is a decent play on sites where he is cheap on Tuesday. The Cavaliers do not defend the point very well as Kyrie is more interested in playing on the offensive side of the ball. Kendall is a lock for 35 minutes of action on Tuesday and should be able to post a floor of 20 fantasy points at least in this one.

Jody Meeks only shot 20% last game on 10 shots putting up his lowest fantasy point total in the previous 5 games. He’s in play for sure on Tuesday against a Cleveland team that does not defend well.

Courtney Lee is an interesting value play if Tony Allen is still out as he’s providing some tremendous upside for the Grizzlies right now. He’s really embracing his role with his new teams and playing over 25 minutes per game over the last 3 games.

Pau Gasol has been banged up yet again this season and was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday. I’m probably just going to fade him most of my games, but keep an eye on his status as there could be some value from the situation if he sits out.

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/13

Well the weekend is over and football is wrapped up, so now the full focus is back on the NBA for daily fantasy players. Tyreke Evans left a bad taste in my mouth on Friday night, but I do have to say I was relieved to know that he was actually hurt. I would have been sick to know he finished with negative points and nothing be wrong with him. That’s enough of the weekend recap so let’s get right to the Monday NBA daily fantasy plays.

Carmelo Anthony – He’s about the only real scoring threat the Knicks have right now with JR Smith being pretty much done in New York. Carmelo is a guy who can add stats in other categories besides just scoring and that is the reason he will be on almost all my rosters Monday.

James Harden – Harden has been on an absolute tear lately going for 40 or more fantasy points in each of his last 5 games. That being said I can’t argue against him on Monday, but Boston is pretty solid in defending opposing back courts. Avery Bradley is an above average defender and will make it tough on Harden to hit value with the higher price tags now.

Anthony Davis – The Pelicans are banged  up and Davis might be the only player on the team that is healthy right now that is worth anything. Davis has went for 47 and 50 fantasy points in his last two and should be worth value with even more of the scoring load falling on his shoulders.  (Be careful though I don’t see the Pelicans hanging with the Spurs this game has blowout written all over it.)

Dirk Nowitzki might be my favorite play for Monday as he’s shooting 53% at home this year and is matched up with a weak Orlando team. Orlando ranks near the bottom in stopping opposing PF’s and Dirk is on fire lately. He’s produced 56 and 48 fantasy point totals in the last 2 games and I expect that to continue.

Ty Lawson is playing some great basketball right now, but he is coming off his worst game in a while on Saturday. The previous 4 games he was able to post numbers to go over 40 fantasy points. He’s got a great match up on Monday as the Nuggets take on Utah who are in the bottom 5 in the last 10 games of defending the point guard. Lawson is actually averaging 2 points per game more on the road this year, so fire him up with confidence.

Demar  Derozan doesn’t have the best of match ups on paper looking at the Bucks ranking over the last 10, but I’m throwing that out for him. He’s been over 30 fantasy points in the last 6 games and over 40 in 3 of those. Derozan is not only scoring over 20 points per game but chipping in with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal per game. He’s been talked by some people as an MVP candidate this season and if you like the price it’s hard to argue with him as a play.

Joakim Noah and Carolos Boozer can just go together here. They are both playing basically for the pride of themselves right now as Chicago gave up when they traded Deng away. Noah has been on fire producing over 35 fantasy points in the last 6 games. He’s had double-digit rebounds in the last 8 games as well. Boozer is not as reliable as Noah, but with the lack of offense on the team then he’s a great option if you ask me. Washington is ranked pretty low in stopping the opposing PF spot  and Boozer is priced nicely on most sites. Boozer should play around his 30 minute mark and be good for a floor of around 25 fantasy points in this one.

Iman Shumpert has started to become a solid fantasy basketball option. He’s seen a price rise on some sites, but if you can still get him cheap I like the option. The Knicks have played him 30 or more minutes in 5 of the last 6 games. The one game he missed the 30 minute mark he went for 29 minutes.

Randy Foye is priced differently on several sites as I took look on Sunday night. If he’s cheap on the site you are playing on then lock him in. He’s consistently playing 30 minutes per game right now and he’s producing in that role. He’s gone for over 20 points in 2 of the last 5 games and has been 14 or more in 4 of the last 6. (Check Wilson Chandler’s status I like Foye either way, but he’s even better without Chandler.

Kris Kardashian ugh I mean Humphries is one of Brad Stevens favorite guys right now. Humphries has played over 30 minutes in the last 3 games and has produced in each of those games. He’s put up 31,44, and 20, so he’s been all over the board, but if he’s cheap where you are playing I like him on Monday against a Houston team that  has been towards the bottom of stopping opposing PF’s.

I haven’t written about any guards in Spurs back court in this article. It’s to early to tell how this unfold but keep a close eye on what the Spurs roll out on Monday. Manu has been out, but could be back for Mondays game. If he’s still out and Danny Green sits after getting hurt Sunday, then Marco Belinelli is almost an automatic value play for me.

The Orlando Magic beat writer was tweeting about Jameer Nelson having several injuries on Saturday. If Nelson was to be out for some reason then I’m going to give a hard look at Oladipo as a value play.

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/10

NBA daily fantasy on Friday night is one of my favorite things mainly because the day off Thursday gives me some rest. I’m back and ready to go heavy with some action on Friday Night. Don’t forget to check out some of our links on the site and give us some support to keep these daily articles coming at you! That’s my cheap plug for the day and now it’s time to discuss some plays.

Steph Curry – A guy with his ceiling is always in play for daily fantasy.

Kevin Love – He’s coming off a fantasy game where he only put up 31 fantasy points. I expect him to bounce back in a big way.

Lebron James – The Heat are coming off a Thursday night game where Wade was active. If Wade is sitting out on Friday then I like Lebron a lot.

Demarcus Cousins – The Magic are without their top rebounder and Cousins should have no problem making easy work of them in this match up.

Michael Carter Williams better known to the daily fantasy world as MCW has some game logs that are all over the board. He’s showed some huge upside this year and I can’t think of a better game to take advantage of that opportunity than against a Pistons team that has been the worst against the point guard in the last 10 games.

Brandon Jennings is on the flip side of the 76ers Pistons game and teams have been putting up a ton of points against the 76ers. Jennings could be a really nice play on Friday if he gets his normal over 30 minutes and can put up some where around 15 shots like he has in the past.

Joakim Noah wasn’t good to start the season, but lately he’s been excellent. Noah is going to play over 30 minutes in this one and is averaging 32 fantasy points per game. Noah took 15 shots last game with Deng gone and should only continue to have to do that which adds more value to him. He’s a double double for sure against the Bucks.

Pau Gasol hasn’t let me down since this column has been coming out and I’m going right back to him on Friday night.

David Lee has been a stud as of late and gets a match up with a Boston front court that is not going to be able to stop him. Lee is shooting almost 55% at home this year and should be more than happy to be back at home after a 7 game road trip.

Jimmy Butler is going to be play close to 40 minutes in this game and is a lock for over 25 fantasy points in my opinion. If Butler’s price is decent on a site you are playing on I really like him now as he’s going to have to take a few more shots for the Bulls as well with Deng gone.

Trey Burke is a guy I may target in a few games on Friday just depending on the price I can get him at. Kyrie Irving isn’t a threat when it comes to play defense and Burke has been better at home this year. The minutes are there when choosing Burke as well as he’s went over 35 minutes in 5 of the last 7.

Jamal Crawford was in this same article on Wednesday and he did not disappoint me. I expect him to have another huge game on Friday against a Lakers team that has struggled to stop other teams SG all season. Crawford should see a ton of minutes and has gone over 30 fantasy points in each of the last two games.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope better known as KCP is a pretty risky value, but he’s getting over 27 minutes in each of the last 4 games with Stuckey out. If Stuckey is out again and we know KCP will get playing time then I’m firing him up against the 76ers.

Wesley Johnson and Jodie Meeks are playing a ton of minutes for the Lakers right now and are priced pretty reasonable on most sites. If you want some cheap plays that you know are going to have to play most of the game then fire them up.

Pero Antic is so cheap right now and playing a little over 20 minutes a game. He’s been over 20 fantasy points and minutes in 3 of the last 4 games. He a nice value to get some of the more expensive players.

I wrote about two different Pistons player, but I honestly couldn’t argue with any of the Pistons as good plays against the 76ers. Their opponents have been fantasy gold all year.

The Friday slate is huge and these are just a few of the guys I’ll be targeting you can find me on twitter through out the day discussing NBA daily fantasy. Good Luck!

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/8

The first edition of my daily play was based on Paul George and he was a major let down for many owners. I won’t be going back that way again for a little while, but the good thing about daily fantasy is it is daily and we come right back today with another slate of games.

Kevin Love – He’s a monster and an absolute fantasy stud right now if you can make  a decent line up around him then play him.

LaMarcus Aldridge – Orlando will probably be with Vucevik and that opens the door for Aldridge to abuse Big Bay. He’s averaging close to 46 fantasy points and is well worth his salary on most nights.

Steph Curry – He’s a stud on any night right now, but has had a few back to earth games, use caution with him. When you use caution keep in mind he could go off at any time, so maybe throw him in a line up somewhere.

Dwight Howard would love nothing more than to stick it to the Lakers time and time again. The Lakers don’t have anyone who can guard him right now and if chooses he could put a huge stat line against them. The potential is there for a dud from Howard, so I’d avoid him in cash games and use only in GPP’s.

Kyle Lowry is coming off a tough game with the Pacers, but find himself in a nice match up on Wednesday. The Pistons are not known for defense and Brandon Jennings is more interested in chucking up shots than playing defense. The previous 4 games before last night Lowry had gone over 30 fantasy points and should be looking to rebound from the Tuesday performance.

Jrue Holiday is the ultimate GPP play for you on Wednesday, but he does come with some risk. Holiday’s game logs have been all over the board lately as just 5 games ago he went for 61 fantasy points, but since then hasn’t gone over 30. This is a prime match up for Holiday and he’s shooting 6% better at home than on the road this year.

James Harden has the pleasure of being a guard against the Lakers defense on Wednesday and he’s in one of his hottest streaks of the year right now. He’s coming off back to back 55 fantasy points games. The Lakers are giving up right at 100 points per game and Harden should have plenty of open looks.

Pau Gasol is a guy I talked about yesterday, so I wont spend much time on him. The Rockets are 24th in the last 10 verses power forwards.

Glen Davis has a higher price tag than I’d like to pay in most places, but with Vuc out against he would be a nice value. He put up over 30 fantasy points in the 2 previous games he played without him.

Jodie Meeks is about mid-tier priced right now, but he is producing in those minutes. He’s facing a Houston back court that doesn’t play good defense and Meeks is taking over 10 shots a game right now.

Jamal Crawford is a guy I’m going to look to roster instead of Darren Collison. He’s much cheaper now and is still putting up 30 fantasy points per game over the last 2 games. He’s taking over 15 shots per game and as long as you don’t get negatives for misses I consider him a much better value.

Gerald Green will be starting in place of Eric Bledsoe  against a Timberwolves team that does not defend the 2 position well. He’s locked into 30 minutes of action right now and can get hot from the 3 point line at any time.

Shawn Marion went to the locker room during Wednesday’s game if he’s out the Jae Crowder makes for a great value play.

The Sports Script NBA Daily Plays for 1/7

Welcome to the first edition of The Sports Scripts daily fantasy plays for the NBA season. It’s a new year and a fresh start for daily fantasy sports. It’s my goal now to bring you daily fantasy sports plays for major slates of games. If you ever do not see a post and have questions as always I can be found on twitter @mattbell211.

The guys in this section are always good plays it’s just a matter of can you fit them in your line up.

Steph Curry – He’s matched up with the Bucks who are one of the worst at defending the PG position.

Kevin Durant – He’s playing lights out basketball right now having over 45 fantasy points in all but 1 of the last 5 games.

Lebron James – He doesn’t put up the type of fantasy numbers of Durant, but he’s also starting to become cheaper and still fills up the stat column.

Paul George is looking to be one of my favorite plays for Tuesday after glancing over the action. He’s taking on a Toronto team that is playing extremely well which leads me to thing it should be a competitive game. He’s capable of putting up the numbers fantasy to have the best night of any player and his price tag is not near as high as the likes of Lebron and Durant. The Raptors don’t really have anyone who can defend him and he should be able to have his way with them on the offensive side of the ball. He’s averaging 38 fantasy points per game this year, but hasn’t been as productive lately. I think he bounces back in a huge way on Tuesday!

Anderson Varejao is really close to being my favorite play for the day with the match up against the 76ers. The 76ers give up the most points in the NBA and don’t rebound that well either. This should all equal a ton of fantasy value for Varejao on Tuesday. He’s playing all the minutes he can handle with Bynum out of the picture and has grabbed at least 11 rebounds in all of the last 5 games he’s played. He put up 54 fantasy points last Thursday and I’m calling it now I expect to see something close to that total again Tuesday.

Damian Lillard is coming off one of his worst fantasy point totals of the year on Saturday and draws a nice match up to rebound with on Tuesday. The Kings are at the bottom when it comes to stopping opposing point guards and that will play into the hands of Lillard. He’s averaging 35 fantasy points a game this year and I would expect to seem him go over that in this match up.

Kemba Walker is at home on Tuesday which means you have to consider him. He’s a much different player fantasy wise at home then he is on the road averaging a full 3 points more per game. He’s shoots ball percentage wise much better as well when he’s at home verses on the road. He’s going to be matched up with John Wall who is no threat on the defense end of the court and will need to score or assist Al Jefferson to keep the Bobcats in the game.

David Lee, right now to me is playing some of the best basketball of anyone in the NBA. He’s totaled over 40 fantasy points in each of his last 3 games and now gets to face a Bucks team that is a mess if you ask me. David Lee is just missing averaging a double double on the year and as long as his price isn’t sky-high he makes for a nice power forward play on Tuesday.

Paul Gasol might still be a Laker on Tuesday and then again he might not, but if he is then you need to roster him. He’s playing basketball better than he has in probably two years as is the main scoring threat for the Lakers right now. The last 3 games he’s played nearly 40 minutes has placed fantasy point totals of 49,60, and 38. He shouldn’t have any trouble taking it to Dallas on the offensive side of the ball.

Anthony Davis is a name you will probably see and hear a lot on Tuesday in the daily fantasy sports industry. Miami is the worst rebounding team in the league and doesn’t defend the center positions well. I’m not going to say Davis is a bad play because he’s not and will produce the fantasy points. I’m just not as high on him as some will be because his price tag is so high and I think the ceiling is set at around 45 fantasy points for him.

Iman Shumpert is still priced very cheap on a few sites and where you can get him at those cheap prices I think he could be a very nice play on Tuesday. The last 3 games he’s had fantasy point totals of 40,40, and then 20. If he gets you 20 at a cheap price you’ve done well, but if he gets you 40 then you’re in good shape. He’s in a nice match up as well as the Pistons rank near the bottom in defending opposing shooting guards.

Kendall Marshall is a must play on any site where his price hasn’t caught up yet as he’s playing nearly 40 minutes per game and has put up over 40 fantasy points in each of the last two. This is a situation when I don’t think you want to over think it and try to fade Marshall.

Trevor Booker is getting around 25 minutes a game now with the Wizards satisfied in bringing Nene is for around 20 minutes to keep him healthy. Booker is a tremendous rebounder and can provide a ton of value for you on a site where is priced in the bottom of salaries.

Danny Granger is near minimum on just about every site right now and isn’t going to get over 20 minutes, but the thing I notice with his game logs is he is going to get you anywhere from 15 to 20 fantasy points. If you want some almost guarantee points from your value play with not much upside then he is your guy.

We need to monitor the situation closely in Cleveland with Kyrie Irving hurting and now Jarret Jack as well there is going to be some fantasy gold in this game as the Cavs take on the 76ers. The problem is we will have to wait till right up until tip-off to see who is suiting up for the Cavaliers. If Kyrie goes I think he’s playable, but if he’s out and Jack goes than Jack is the guy I would play. If both guys are out look for CJ Miles and Dion Waiters to both be nice value plays.

2014 Ultra-Mega-Super Early Top 10 Fantasy Football Rankings

The 2013 Fantasy Football season has come and went again. Hopefully you guys ended up better than mine since I lost 3 title games by a combined margin of 8 points. But no need to live in 2013 let’s go ahead and burst onto the 2014 ridiculously early top 10 picks of the 1st round. I will be unleashing my awfully early rankings for each position as the month rolls but here is what my top 10 looks like right now.

2014 Top 10 ultra-mega-super Early Fantasy Football Rankings

1. LeSean McCoy – This is a tie between him and Charles and don’t think you can go wrong with either guy but McCoy would be my guy right now. As it sits (before offseason moves) McCoy has 9 matchups against teams that gave up the 10th or higher most fantasy points to opposing RBs.

2. Jamaal Charles – Like I stated can’t go wrong in either the 1st or 2nd spot this year. Charles is a beast and had an unbelievable Fantasy season.

3. Matt Forte – 2013 was good to Forte with a career high in Rushing Yards, TDs, Catches, Receiving yards and finally was the go to man in the redzone. The arrow is only pointing up for him in 2014.

4. Calvin Johnson – I have never been big on drafting anything other than RBs in the top half of the 1st round but when you produce as well as MegaTron does you have to make an exception.

5. Adrian Peterson – We all knew he wouldn’t duplicate his 2012 season but even with missing a couple of games Peterson was the 5th leading rusher. With a new coaching staff and more than likely a new QB, he really could be a steal on draft day.

6. Le’Veon Bell – Bell is my favorite of any of the young running backs heading into 2014. Bell totaled 1259 yards with 8 TDs in only 13 games and that’s why he will be a top-tier pick this coming year.

7. Marshawn Lynch – I was down on him going into 2013 and was wrong. I don’t like to be wrong twice, 1200+ yards and double-digit TDs in each of his last 3 seasons. Sign me up.

8. Eddie Lacy – He and Bell are going to be a lot of fun to watch over the next few years. I like Bell more but Lacy is going to have a very god season as well.

9. Doug Martin – Coming off the injury will be very risky drafting him but another top RB that could be a steal in round 1.

10. Josh Gordon – Did you see what this guy did with the QBs he had? Not only that he finished with 147 more yards than the 2nd place and that was with missing 2 games. Unreal.

Even though the season is over I will be giving you more rankings per position over the next couple weeks as well as dissecting where Free Agents land and what the Fantasy Impact will be for those players.

Think I missed something? Tell me who you would have in the top spot heading into 2014.

Make sure to hope on over to twitter and give me a follow and maybe even debate who I have ranked where. (@rickygangster)
